Urban Decay The Vice Palette Review, Photos and Swatches

Hello Beauties!

Today I bring to you Urban Decay The Vice Palette. I picked it up yesterday at the pre-launch party at Sephora Times Square. I'm so excited to bring this to you and most importantly to be blogging again!
This palette has 20 amazingly gorgeous shades. My favorites are Chaos a cobalt blue, Occupy a sparkle filled bluish green, Desperation a medium grey, Rapture a lilac shimmer with a blackened undertone, Vice a rich purple and Armor a sparkle filled steel grey. The colors in this palette are gorgeous and this new revamped formula is just yummy!!! They feel much creamier. The shades in this palette are very pigmented. I find that just a dab of the brush in the shadow goes a long way. They go on smooth & silky. I am so into this palette! I love that it has the right amount of play eyeshadows as well as everyday eyeshadows so it covers all your eyeshadow look/needs ;)
The case is very different from other Urban Decay palettes. It is a push button to open case and the lid opens slowly to reveal the beautiful shades. It has a full mirror on the lid and on the top side it has a crystal UD. It's just a piece of art!
OK enough talk, let me show you the photos of this beauty!

The cushion to protect the faux crystal UD.

This palette is part of Urban Decay's Holiday Limited Edition release. The cost of the palette is $59 and you can purchase it by clicking here!

Love & Sparkles,
 Jess

PS I am so happy to be blogging again! Big thanks to my FRIENDS that made this possible! I love you all!!!

Hi Beauties

Hello Beautiful Friends! I am so sorry it's been forever since I have posted. I've had some serious health issues to deal with and of course since when it rains it pours, my laptop died on me. I'm currently battling cancer and amongst all the other issues I don't have a laptop. Thankfully I have an amazing angel out there named Jill that has loan me hers until I can get a new one. Thank God for amazing friends. I haven't purchased makeup lately except for Tarte Egyptian Kohl Liner. I will blog about that when it arrives. Only reason I was able to get it was because I had a credit at QVC so I just had to pay 2 bucks and some change. All money now goes to my new makeup which is gauze, tape, Coban, medicines and transportation. LOL So you won't see as much activity on here as before but know that once I'm better, I will be back to my old habits aka makeup shopping! Here's some of the things on my need to have list! Christina Choi's makeup line, I hear it's amazing! Urban Decay Smoked palette, it's the smoky version of Naked! Yeah I need that!!! Too Faced Three Way Lash Tool, Lash Injection new formula, I hear it's like Blinc but with a fluffy brush. I loved the regular one but if this is more watery like blinc's I will be in heaven! Too Faced The Return Of Sexy Eye Shadow Palette. It's so perfectly beautiful!! And last but not least BE Awestruck blush. I'm out of here for now but I will try to be around a little more. You can always email me at j.sparklesblog @ gmail dot com Please stay sparkly!!! Love & Sparkles, Jesse

Buxom Pen & Ink Long-Last Eyeliner Ciao & P.S. Review & Swatches

Hi Beauties,
The Buxom Pen & Ink Long-Lasting Eyeliner is the newest addition to the Buxom liner line. These come in t sleek black tube with the silver metallic logo along side it. The bottom cap is in the shade of the liner, so the black P.S. has a black cap & the brown Ciao has a brown cap. The applicator is felt tip, like a marker. It is flat so you can make a thin line. If you turn it, it is wide so you can apply a wider line. The pigment is not so good. You have to go over the line 2 or 3 times in order for it to be a bold shade. One coat is more like a wash of liner. Although it says waterproof, it is not. I did a photo below where you can see that water makes it run. I always have to wear waterproof because I have a teary eye so this doesn't work for me. However, if you want quick & easy liner & like a lighter line, then this is for you.

In order to get these swatches I had to go over the line 3 times.

This is how the liner runs with water.

You can purchase the Buxom Pen & Ink Long-Last Eyeliner by clicking here or at your nearest Sephora store for $20.

Peace & Sparkles,
 Jessica

Hi Beauties,
Spring is officially here!!! I love Spring because it's the season to step out of the dark shades of Winter & welcome back color!! Kat Von D sure nailed it with this palette which has Spring written all over it! The shades are bright, vivid & so full of life. This rainbow palette contains Swan Song a soft shimmery pink, Marya a lightest pink pearl, No Regrets a vivid hot pink, Drama For Yo Momma a gorgeous grape, Mad Max a bright vivid blue, Dublin a pretty lime green, Sparklehorse a true gold shimmer & Altruism a soft buttercup yellow. Included in this palette is Kat's amazing liner in Wonderchild a beautiful electric blue. The shadows & liner come in a sleek black metallic case with the palette name "Mi Vida Loca" painted in the colors of the rainbow on the lid. There is also a full size mirror on the inside of the palette.
I love Kat's palettes, the colors are always very pigmented & the formula is long lasting, They are very blendable & the colors always stay true! If you are looking for some fun, bright Spring & Summer eye shadows, this palette has everything you are looking for!

Buxom Lip Cream Big & Healthy Lip Polish Review & Swatches

Hi Beauties,
Today I am reviewing Buxom Big & Healthy Lip Cream Lip Polish in 6 shades! These were sent to me for review.
I should begin by saying the Cream Buxoms are a cross between the regular sheer Buxom Polish & the full color ones. The color is not completely sheer nor is it a full color, just in between. None of the shades have sparkle or shimmer. They are just polish of pure color. The tubes are frosted and the shades are not named after ladies. The labels are more legible than the other Buxom glosses. The scent & the feel is identical to other Buxom Polishes. The taste is different. Kind of chemical/medicine-y taste with an after taste. It doesn't last too long, about 20 seconds, but it's not too pleasant. It doesn't have those little minty burst like the other Buxoms, its more of an all over minty feel.
They do have the same stay power of the other Buxoms so that's a plus! The shades are really pretty also. Purple Haze is a true grape purple, Pink Lady is a soft, bright pink, Cherry Flip is an orangey poppy red, Berry Blast is a bright fuchsia, Mudslide is a dusty rose petal pink and White Russian is a pinkish nude. I am loving Berry Blast, Pink Lady, Purple Haze & Cherry Flip for the Spring! The others are great for everyday use. Purple Haze is like no other purple out there. It's really pretty!
All in all, I like these lippies. The colors are great & their pigment is nice so they look true to shade on the lips. I do recommend laying a thin layer of lip liner first, a shade closest to your natural lip color. Laying lip liner down over your entire lip area will help glosses last twice as long ;)

These are currently available at Sephora stores or  Sephora online by clicking here The cost for each of these beauties is $18. Remember Buxom is exclusive to Sephora so don't go searching for these at your local Boutique!

Peace & Sparkles,
 Jess

Meet The Body Bartender Heather Losik

Hi Beauties,

"My love for vintage fashion, burlesque shows, rock-n-roll music & pin-up girls'" is how Heather Losik, creator and founder of "The Body Bartender" describes the inspirations behind her smart, fun and innovative skin care line. The paraben free products like the Tattoo Protection, Bikini Candy Sea Salt Scrub, Tattoo Polish, Body Bronzer & her personal favorite Peek-a-Booty Tush Tightener are adorned with super cute pin-up girls inspired by her grandmother who was a pin-up model.

Yet the products aren't the only things that make this brand edgy and unique, it's also its mission to be socially responsible.  The Body Bartender is not tested on animals, in fact it hopes to abolish animal testing all together! It also donates a portion of every sale to selected charities.  If you look at the bottles, you'll notice a ribbon symbolizing the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout for Cancer Fund there is also a dog and cat symbolizing the Animal Alliance. And as Heather puts it, " What does a rat, a cat, a monkey or a dog have in common with me???"

Heather who grew up in Kansas & lives in LA, created the skincare line because she's a "self-professed beauty junkie."  As a kid she spent her parents "hard earn money" on skin care & has always taken care of her skin so it was only natural for her to create her own line! A skin care line that worked, is affordable & appeals to everyone, it's about making her customers feel good, pampered and luscious.

The Body Bartender is much more than just Heather's love for skincare, it's about sharing her way of life.  "I always thought of myself as the girl that was "serving up" advice to her friends on how to take care of their skin, follow a proper diet, and encourage exercise regularly."   This is how she came up with the concept of "The Body Bartender"
Her goal is to create a place, "a store front", that captures the laid back feel of a bar with the pampering of a spa, hence her brand motto "please drench responsibly."   If Heather has it her way, people's happy hour won't just be your local pub but at your local The Body Bartender.
I recommend you check out her products by clicking here or to join her on twitter click here & for Facebook click here!

 Jess
